Because we all know that it is very important for a person to be peaceful in his life. If there is no peace in life, you can't be able to focus or understand anything.

What is Shambhavi Mahamudra?
Shambhavi Mahamudra is an eyebrow centre gazing technique or you can also called it as a powerful mudra which is used to bring stability or calmness in your mind and to experiencing a higher level of consciousness inside you. It is different from other types of mudras. Shambhavi word comes from the Shambhu , and mudra means the kriya. It means to maintain a mudra in which the Shambhu is. This yogic form is very useful for everyone.
How do you do Shambhavi Mahamudra?
You need to understand that it is a yogic kriya. So you need to do it carefully. So there are some steps which tells you how to do Shambhavi Mahamudra.
1. You should have to sit comfortably :- Whenever you are doing any yogic kriya , there are different type of positions for different kriyas. So you can choose any of the positions like Padmasana, Sukhasana etc. But the simpler position you should have to use in doing Shambhavi is the crossleg position. Because in this Yogic Kriya the comfort is also an important aspect. So you have to sit in a crossleg position and your back or you could say that your spine should be straight or erected. Your arms and shoulders should be loose and relaxed.
2. You have to take a particular form :- When you sit comfortably, then you should have to take a particular mudra. In this Yogic Kriya , be in a particular mudra is very important. Mudra simply means a form. First of all put both of your hands on your thighs facing upwards and the index finger should be in touch with the thumb with the tips forming a circle between them. Rest of the other three fingers should be in touch with each other and have to be straight. There is no gap between these four fingers. Be in that particular mudra.
3. Be in the meditative form :- After when you are done with the mudra , then close your eyes. You should have to turn your face slightly upwards. After then you have a natural focus on between both of your eyebrows. Just maintain the focus. Do not concentrate on it. And then inhale slowly and then exhale and maintain the consciousness on the breathing. Atleast do Shambhavi Mahamudra for 10 minutes daily and you can increase your time according to your capacity.

And you have to make sure that when you have to do this kriya , sit in a comfortable place where there is no noise.
Can I listen to music while doing Shambhavi Mahamudra?
When you listen to music , you might get focussed and listening to music will also calm you. So music is a better option to get focussed , if you are not focussed. Also in this mudra , you have to keep calm. Its a better thing to listen music while doing Shambhavi if you are very new to it , but you should not have to listen music while doing Shambhavi because you can't get proper benefit from it. Because in this mudra it is very necessary to be calm. You can listen some meditative music or binaural beats to keep calm yourself just before doing Shambhavi.
Is there any harm in exceeding the time limit during practice of Shambhavi Mahamudra?
No there is no harm in exceeding the time limit during practice of Shambhavi Mahamudra. It totally dependent on you. At starting you will not be able to do this for a very long time. So you can do it according to your convenience. For example :- At starting days you can practice it for 10-20 minutes on a specific time and at a place where there is no noise. And after practicing it daily when you are comfortable , you can exceed its time limit according to your convenience.
