What should you do when you can't study daily?
We all are aware how much education is important in our life. Without education no body got a growth in his life. We have spent a lot of money in our education. It starts from school then colleges and if anybody wants to pursue more education he spent a lot of time and effort as well as money to make himself educated. But today most of the people do not love to study as it feels boring to them. Most of the times they are spent on different activities like using social media, watching reels for hours and hours. People waste a lot of time in these activities instead of studying.
And if they have to study, first of all they need motivation to study. For this, they just go for a motivational video and for some days or for some time they study due to the impact of motivational video. And after that they again go back to the same activities they are doing before. The main problem is that they are not focussed towards their studies and not have a keen interest in studies. And that's is the biggest thing what today's youth are just wasting their precious time in useless activities. You should use your precious time in studying, playing or on to learn new skills for your development. So here are some different steps as how you could study if you can't do it daily:
1. Create a short step entry rule.
- The 5 minute rule:- Most of the people has a problem that they can't study for long hours. Means they cannot sit for long hours to study like if they want to study for 1 or 2 hrs at least, still they would not be able to do that. So for that you need to make a 5 minute rule. Tell yourself and do study for only 5 minutes. You know that hardest part of anything is just starting it. Once you start, you are just going to continue it and after sometime your interval of time also gets increased.
- The 10 minute stubbornness:- We all know the power of one's self will power. Enough will power of one can do the impossible tasks possible. So start your study with a 10 minute of focus. It means focus on your study for at least ten minutes. You should try to be totally focussed for at least ten minutes and after that if you want to stop, just stop. Take this one habit with you and it will build you momentum and keep increasing it after some days, means increase your time a little bit more than 10 to 15 to 20 and keeps it increasing according to your suitability. This forceful start will make you capable enough and increase your focus towards your studies.
- Start with the easy subject:- When you are going to study, make sure you will start with the subject you enjoy or which you find easy. Through this you can build the confidence at starting, because starting is the most tough one. As it is easier for you to build confidence or gain momentum when you start with the subject you enjoy or find easier, because the subject you enjoy, you got easily focussed on that and this is a major aspects through which you learn to focus on your studies.
2. Follow some study methods:-
- The Pomodoro technique:- When you start studying you have to follow the Pomodoro technique. This technique will help you to easily focussed on your studies. In this technique, you have to have to study for 25 minutes followed by a 5 minute break. Through this when you are studying you are not getting burned out and through this you can make the time more manageable. For example, you have to study so if you follow pomodoro technique the timer is short and you also got breaks. So this will help you to utilise your time efficiently and also you can bring some better outputs through your study, like finishing a task or complete a paragraph etc.
- Active Recall Method(3-2-1 Method):- In this method you have to follow these steps. First you have to read a concept 3 times, then speak it 2 times from the memory and write it 1 time from memory. This engages your brain more effectively. As you can see when you are engaged in this activity your power to recall things increases and you are getting more focussed towards studies. Also this method increases your sharpness as well.
3. Change your Environment and build a habit.
- Change your scenario:- We know that sometimes we feel lazy at home, so it is much better to go to a library or any place where you do not feel any noise. When you have a new environment you got a signal for your brain to be productive. Basically When you go outside you feel fresh and also when you see people studying in library, you will also feel to study and a quite place will also help you to focus on your studies.
- Make Digital boundaries:- It is very important for you to know how to save your time. Because time is everything. If you are wasting your time here and there you will not be able to focus on your studies. Here it is very important that you do not have to waste your time in using social media unnecessary. People waste a lot of time in just scrolling reels and watching videos. Use some special apps to block or limit your time for using social media or unwanted websites during your study time. You just stop wasting your time and do study.
- Make a schedule or having accountability:- First of all you need to understand that there is an importance of deadline in your life. So it is very important for you to make a time schedule for you to study also have an accountability of what you are doing in a day. Also it is helpful if you have someone with you at the time of study. When both study in silence, it will create a pressure on you to stay on your task.
4. Check for physical causes.
- Check for physical health:- Sometimes we do not know what is the real cause of lack of focus. It happens sometimes due to the nutritional deficiencies in our body. So it is very important to take care of your physical health like eat a balanced diet which includes every single nutrition because it is very necessary for your brain that you body has proper nutrition intake. Otherwise you brain doesn't function well as like a lack of focus.
- Prioritize Recovery:- We all know that how much sleep is important for us. Sleep is important in many aspects and also responsible for growth in body. So you should prioritize it. You have to make sure for at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Because if you sleep less you will feel tired and lazy. And a tired brain cannot be able to retain new information with effectiveness.
